Youth Activities
Youth Director: Toby Tucker
The Ellis’s are attending due to Austin’s win in the FLW/TBF Texas Youth Championship held on Eagle Mountain Lake on June 5
th
, 2010. Austin took first place in the 11-14 year old category. He advances to fish Lake Lanier sometime in August. He is sponsored by Toby Tucker and has paid his dues to be a member. There were 5 anglers in the 11-14 bracket and 5 in the 15-18 bracket. Timothy Tucker also fished the event and had a big fish break off early in the day. Last year’s Champs were in Toby’s boat and he reported that they were very accomplished anglers. There are currently no events to qualify for the Championship. Both anglers said they would fish it again next year.
Conservation Activities
Conservation Director: Gerald McClanahan
Gerald McClanahan reported that he has been seeing used fishing line receptacles at some boat docks and ramps. He suggested that we might start a used line collection at tourneys. Lines to be recycled can be dropped off at Academy. The question was asked if permission was needed to place receptacles at ramps and Gerald said he will research the subject. The receptacle was a PVC tube with caps on both ends and a hole for inserting used line.
Congratulations
