Big Sandy Creek Bass Club is the newest addition to the North Central Region of the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation.  We are a nonprofit organization founded in 1972.  Our main purpose is to educate and share information within the club to promote friendly competition.  Feel free to read our Constitution and Bylaws for detailed information regarding the structure and rules of the club.  You can also visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for more information.  If you live in the Austin area, and are interested in joining a bass club, we are currently accepting new members at all levels of experience.  If you have any questions, just drop us a line and we'll get back to you promptly.

Club Events

Meetings
We hold meetings at 7:30pm on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in Round Rock.  At each meeting, a member of the club will present an informative "how to" session on a topic of his/her choice.

Club Tournaments
We hold one tournament each month awarding prize money to 1st place, 2nd place, and big bass.  Most tournaments are held on local lakes, but we try to schedule at least one 2-day tournament each year on an out of town lake that's known for producing big bass.

We fish the following local lakes:

  • Fayette County Lake
  • Lake Bastrop
  • Lake Austin
  • Lake Buchanan
  • Stillhouse Hollow Lake
  • Lake Belton
  • Lake LBJ
  • Inks Lake
  • Lake Travis
  • Lake Georgetown

Classic Championship
Qualifying members for the year earn the chance to fish the Big Sandy Classic Tournament in the following year.  The club may contribute $600.00 bonus prize money.  This tournament is sponsored by the club and prize money is awarded to the winners.

Top 6 Tournament
The previous year's Top 6 earn the opportunity to fish the Texas B.A.S.S. Federation State Championship.  The club may contribute money to cover the entry fees and expenses.

Bass Roundup
Each year Big Sandy Creek Bass Club may host an open tournament on a local lake and donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity.  In 2002, Big Sandy Creek Bass club joined forces with The Arc of the Capital Area to host the Bass Roundup.  The success of this open tournament over the past years has enabled us to generate over $28,000 paid directly to the Arc.

Big Bass of the Year Contest
Each member has the option to participate in the Big Bass of the Year contest.  The club may match the pot up to $300 and pay the member that catches the biggest bass of the year.

Awards Banquet
Each year, we hold a banquet to award the previous year's Top 6 members.  This event is open to the club members and their families.
