How do I become a member?
We require that all prospective members attend one meeting and fish one tournament as a guest before being voted into the club.  After these requirements are met, and you are still interested in joining, the club will vote on your membership at the next available meeting when you are present.  All weight that you accumulate while attending as a guest will be applied to the standings once you become a member.

Why do you require prospective members to attend one meeting and fish one tournament as a guest before being voted into the club?
This requirement benefits you.  It allows you to decide if our club fits what you are looking for in a bass club before you commit to joining.  You gain the "big picture" view of how our club operates in the meetings and on the water.

Where and when does the club meet?
We meet at 7:30PM on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant in Round Rock.  We have a private room reserved in the back of the restaurant.

How much does it cost to join the club?
That depends on when you join.  Yearly dues are $20.00 for returning members.  Dues for new members joining throughout the year will be based on the following pro-rated scale:

Jan - Apr:   $20.00
May - Aug:   $14.00
Sep - Dec:   $7.00

There is also an optional fee of $12.00 to enter the "Big Bass of the Year" contest.  This optional fee is paid once per year and must be paid before you fish your first tournament.  Dues will be used for club responsibilities and are non-refundable.

In addition to the club dues, there are dues for the B.A.S.S. Federation of $38.00.  These dues cover the National B.A.S.S. Federation and Texas State B.A.S.S. Federation.  You must also purchase a Bassmasters Magazine subscription as part of the affiliation.

Can I join if I don't own a boat?
Yes.  You do not need a boat to join the club.  We currently have more boaters than non-boaters and should always have a seat for you.

Can I bring a minor into the club?
Yes.  Anyone under the age of 18 must be sponsored by an adult over the age of 18.  The adult is responsible for all actions and the safety of the minor.

My buddy and I are interested in joining your club.  Can we fish in your next tournament before we decide to join?
Yes and no and depending on the type of tournament.  If the tournament is a regular lake rules tournament, both of you will be able to fish, but each of you must fish with a club member.  If the tournament is a draw or paper tournament and you comply with the guest restrictions (see the next question), both of you will be able to fish.

| To The Top |

What are the guest restrictions?
Guests may fish with an individual member once per year.
Guests are not allowed to fish in paper or draw tournaments unless the guest has attended one of the last three meetings prior to the tournament.
Guests that have met the requirement to fish in paper or draw tournaments must fish the tournament with a club member.

What type of system do you use to record the club standings?
The club standings are based on accumulated weight of the individual.  The weight of the fish that you accumulate during the monthly tournaments is added to your standings.  Since we encourage active participation in the meetings and on the water, you will receive 1 bonus pound for each meeting you attend and 2 bonus pounds for each tournament you attend.

How do you pair up partners for the tournaments?
It is up to you to secure a partner for each tournament.  The club does not dictate who you should fish with.  At the last meeting prior to the tournament, the Tournament Director will take note of all partners.  If anyone is not paired up at this time, the Tournament Director will try to find a partner for you.  You can also contact the Tournament Director directly to get assistance with finding a partner.

What is the payout for each tournament?
100% of the tournament entry fees will be paid back at the first meeting following the tournament.  Standard tournament payouts for 1 - 14 teams are based on the following scale:

1st Place Team:   50%
2nd Place Team:   30%
Big Bass:   20%

Standard tournament payouts for 15+ teams are based on the following scale:

1st Place Team:   40%
2nd Place Team:   30%
3rd Place Team:   20%

What's the proper etiquette for splitting expenses with my tournament partner?
The club does not dictate how the expenses should be split.  You and your partner should discuss how to split the expenses before the tournament.  Just make sure you split the expenses fairly.  Here's a couple of guidelines that most club members follow.  If you use your tow vehicle to pull your boat to the tournament, your partner should pay for your entry fee.  If your partner uses his tow vehicle to pull your boat to the tournament, you both pay your own entry fee.
