The air temp ranged from the
high 50's to the low 70's.
Water temp ranged from 68 to 88. Most of the day was overcast with the sun
showing intermittently. This was the best day of the month
to fish according to the moon charts.
Most fish were caught early in
the morning (before sun up). Effective patterns were crank
baits, plastics, and spinner baits. Dean and David started
out in the intake and produced fish on crank baits. After
wearing out the intake, they headed for the dam and caught fish on
worms and spinner baits. Throughout the day, they visited
these spots and picked up a few more fish. Dean also
reported that they had luck fishing the matted grass and sporadic
grass around the Oak Thicket Park boat ramp.
