What a great day to fly a kite! (and
catch some fish) The wind blew 25 - 35 from the N/NW all day long.
The tournament started with the air temp at 48, water temp at 63.8, windy, and
partly cloudy skies. Not much changed throughout the day. We ended
the tournament with the air temp at 55, water temp at 65, still windy, and
partly cloudy skies. A total of 32 fish weighed 85.34 pounds.
If you found grass, you found fish. The
winning team was able to find a little protection from the wind in the back of a
cove and caught all of their fish around grass beds with plastics. The
second place team fought the wind all day long on a main lake shoreline and
caught most of their fish around sporadic grass beds with spinner baits and
crank baits.
