It's hot! So hot that David Gandaria
takes a swim even though he may not have wanted to at the time. We had another good turnout of members and returning members.
We started the tournament with the air temp at 75, water temp at 81.9, no wind,
and clear skies. We ended the tournament with the air temp at 95, water
temp at 83.7, wind at 10 - 15MPH from the SE, and clear skies. A total of 25 fish
weighed 48.82 pounds.
The winning team reported catching their fish
on the grass edges around the island. Top water and flukes worked best in the
morning, but as the sun got higher, the bite slowed. They spent the rest
of the day scrambling around the island dragging Carolina rigged and Texas
rigged brush hogs and power worms in watermelon seed and blue fleck colors.
Big Bass of the tournament was caught on a red diamond shad rattletrap fished
around the island.
