Fayette can't be beat during the cold
months. Many anglers were anxious to get back on this lake for the second
month in a row. The tournament started with the air temp at 37, water temp
at the ramp was 60, a light wind from the SE, and clear skies. The
tournament ended with the air temp at 65, water temp at the ramp was 62, wind
from the SSE at 10 - 15, and partly cloudy skies. A total of 31 bass
weighed 95.58.
The first place team reported catching fish
early on spinner baits. They were casting up against the reeds in 1 - 2'
of water and would let the bait fall. Later on they caught fish at the dam
on wacky worms. The second place team caught their fish early on spinner
baits and shallow running crank baits over the niad grass. Later in the
day they caught fish on jigs fished around the trees.
