"Fishing Lake Austin is like a box of
chocolates. You never know what your gonna get." Usually the
club does well during this time of year on this lake, but as you can see from
the results, fishing was tougher than expected. The tournament started
with the air temp at 55, water temp at the ramp was 53, no wind, and fog.
The tournament ended with the air temp at 60, water temp at the ramp was 56,
wind from the SSE at 5 - 10, and mostly cloudy skies. A total of 27 bass
weighed 66.47.
The first place team reported catching their
fish up the river past City Park using crank baits in 10 - 15 foot of
water. The second place team reported catching their fish above the 360
bridge using Carolina Rigs and Senko's in the hydrilla that's 12 - 15' below the surface.
