All but one of the qualifying club members
have never seen this lake before. The tournament started with the
air temp in the low 70's, water temp at 71, a slight breeze from
the SE, and overcast skies. The tournament ended with the
air temp in the mid 80's, water temp at 73, wind at 5 - 10 from the
SE, and partly cloudy skies. A total of 22 fish weighed 50 lbs 12 oz.
The winning team reported catching the bulk
of their fish on the dam using watermelon red wacky worms and light weight
Carolina rigs rigged with watermelon red finesse worms. The second place
team reported catching their fish on docks in 1 - 6' of water. One keeper
was caught on a crank bait, and the rest of their sack was caught on finesse
worms. The third place team reported catching all of their fish from one
point using spinner baits and flukes. Big bass of the tournament was
caught on a light weight Carolina rig rigged with a watermelon red finesse worm
in 12' of water on the dam.
