We had 14 members qualify to fish the 2004 BSCBC Classic Championship.  Each member drew for partners and starting order to fish this team event.  The teams met at the lake at 5:30a.  The air temp was 50, water temp 64.8, wind from the NE at 5MPH, and cloudy skies threatening to rain.  After all teams launched, we lined up the boats, waited for 6a to roll around and took off in order of the number drawn at the last meeting.  Every team had a pretty good day with all teams weighing in 5 fish limits.  Throughout the day, the wind was variable from 5 - 10 and patchy rain.  There was very little change in the air temp and water temp at the end of the day.  A total of 35 fish weighed 75.91 .

The first place team also had big bass of the tournament.  8.16 is a nice fish on Buchanan.  Since the lake was off limits for a month, they decided to cover a lot of water.  They put the trolling motor down and started running banks with spinner baits and flipping docks with watermelon seed lizards.  They reported catching their fish on main lake points close to deep water.  Most of their fish were caught in 5 - 6'.

The second place team targeted shallow water in the back of Silver Creek using light c-rigs.  They caught their 3 pounder in the mouth of Morgan Creek.  All fish came on a variety of plastics in green with red flakes.

The third place team started on main lake points, but could not get bit.  They finally found their fish on secondary points and on banks half way back in the creeks.  They claimed that the productive areas were banks that had the creek channel running along it and their had to be shad present.  They caught their fish on c-rigs, crank baits, and wacky worms.
