Gandaria and Washburn take an early day 1 lead and hold it to win the season opener on Amistad.  Fishing was a little tougher than most expected, but we still turned in some impressive numbers.  Overall, there were 131 bass that weighed 310.72.

The 1st place team targeted contour breaks in 22 - 24' of water with grass apparent.  They caught their fish on flaky green DD22 crank baits, Texas rigged straight tail worms, and watermelon gold flukes.  The 2nd place team targeted deep grass flats in 16 - 22' of water.  They caught their fish on old down deep Rapala crank baits, DD22's, spinner baits, and c-rigged brush hogs.  There was a tie for big bass of the tournament.  The 1st big bass was caught on a perch colored rattle trap in 6' of water.  The 2nd big bass was caught on a shad pattern deep diving crank bait in 15' of water.
