Fluctuating lake levels has the bass
and the anglers a little confused. The spawn is usually over
by now, but several fish were caught full of eggs and some noted
seeing fish on beds. The lake is a little off the normal
clarity. A total of 61 bass weighed 130.53. The 1st place
team flipped hardwood in 10-12' of water or less. They used
wacky rigged senkos in watermelon purple, jigs, and watermelon
finesse worms to produce the winning sack. The 2nd place
team started out fishing shallow main lake points with grass
present. They caught fish early by ripping Deep Little N's
out of the grass. After that bite died, they transitioned to
deeper water and caught fish on senkos, lizards, and flukes.
The big bass of the tournament was caught on a 1/8oz split shot
rig dressed with a green pumpkin Yum Dinger with the tail dipped. |
