1st Place = Dean Alexander/Mike Briseno = 7 fish = 12.00 lbs.
Fishing was tough for the team. They fished the main lake early and caught several short fish. After dark they hit the lights. The team threw blue flek worms Texas rigged. They did not spend too much time on each light and spent a lot of time “running”.
2nd Place = David Gandaria/Angie Gandaria = 5 fish = 0.03 lbs.
David and Angie found the fishing tough as well. They fished rocks and main lake points early with soft plastics. After dark – they hit the lights with drop shot rigs with grubs - concentrating on the darker shadow areas and the perimeters of the lights. At one point they fished main lake humps with C-rigs and Senkos.
Big Bass = Steven Amezquita = 3.59 lbs
Steven pulled the big fish off of a dock not far from the ramp early in the evening.
We had 7 teams fish the LBJ night tournament. The air temps were in the low 90 ’s at launch and had fallen to the upper 70’s by the morning weigh-in. It was a bit breezy at launch with prevailing winds out of the south/southwest. The breeze became light to calm early in the evening. The water temps were in the mid to upper 80’s. The water clarity varied from clear to stained depending on where you were on the lake. Fishing was SLOW for LBJ. |
