| 8 teams fished the club tournament on Lake Fayette this weekend. Mother Nature was at her best/worst with strong gusty cold winds out of the North and Northeast – finally starting to lay down around 2:00 PM. The temps were in the upper 30’s/low 40’s at launch and managed to reach into the 50’s by weigh-in. The nippy/cold dry air kept the wind chill going all day.
1st Place = Toby Tucker/Brady Keene = 10 fish = 47.25
Toby and Brady started the day on the East end of the lake. The fishing was slow so they moved to a different pocket and Brady hooked up a good fish on a Ribbit Frog. They fished the "hard matted grass' and were surprised how many fish blew up through the grass. That bite lasted quite a while. Later they moved to the outer edge of the matted grass in 6-8 feet of water. They chunked Tornadoes and Rattlesnake lures.
2nd Place = David Gandaria/Jimmy Lynn = 10 fish = 38.78
The team started in the intake and picked up a couple of fish. They hit a couple of pond dams and caught fish. They moved around some throwing Spinner Baits and Crank Baits. They found some fish in skinny water and some as deep as 10-15 feet.
No bass over 24 inches was weighed in = BB rolls over to January tournament |
